The weather in Cape Town is a capricious animal so walks on and around Table Mountain have to be tailored to daily conditions. Depending on conditions, walks include the National Botanical Garden at Kirstenbosch, for the adventurous from there up forested Skeleton Gorge (don’t panic, no-one has died there … yet), and then to the top of the Table.

This itinerary allows our guides to reveal the wonders of the local flora, the mysteries of the fynbos plant biome (a World Heritage Site), and other aspects of the mountain ecology. If the wind is not blowing too strongly, the tour includes a trip up and down the cableway, which is itself is a highlight of any visit to Cape Town and not to be missed.

If you are not up to a vigorous walk, we will vary the fynbos walk to accommodate your wants. For example, you might prefer to spend the large proportion of the day within Kirstenbosch, to see as much of the fynbos as possible within one location, as well as other floral wonders such as the only living cycad of one species. A drive to other fynbos mountain sites is also on the cards
